Who are you?
I’m Southern Soul Damo, an independent Southern Soul artist out of Mississippi. My music is built on real-life stories of love, heartbreak, mistakes, growth, and everything in between. I blend soul, R&B, and Southern blues influence to create songs that feel honest and relatable. I’m focused on staying consistent, building from the ground up, and turning my life experiences into music people can really feel. So basically, I’m a storyteller.
Where are you from?
I’m from Shelby, Mississippi. Right now, Shelby itself doesn’t have a big commercial music ecosystem, but most artists are independent singers, church musicians, or local bands. A lot of talent moves toward nearby hubs like Clarksdale, Cleveland, Greenville, or Memphis. The live performance culture is still strong through churches, small venues, and local events
So the scene is more raw talent + small community + regional movement.
